That particular item isn't even on the list. Why? Not that I have anything against the Yellow Pages...I'm just not an advocate of what is called "space advertising," you know...phone books, magazines, newspapers and the like. I find them to be outrageously expensive and extremely difficult to justify with the high costs involved.

I'm a firm believer in using unique ideas, that can be implemented immediately...and, that fall into the category of what I call "low to medium budget" advertising and origination. And yes...you're probably already using some of the ideas in this publication. That's OK! There are plenty of other great ideas to rejuvenate your marketing efforts and to broaden your prospecting capabilities.

Prospecting...isn't that what it's all about? If you're going to be successful in the mortgage business, you need to allocate a portion of each and every day to not only maintaining, but growing your business.To do that, you need to be prospecting continuously using ideas that not only fit your budget...but, have been known to work in the mortgage industry

This idea has worked great for me and resulted in a number of mortgages over the years. Many times I've even gotten mom and dad's address and phone number immediately, just by asking for it.

Or how about origination idea number 87:

  • Give out a customized "Million" or even a "Billion Dollar Bill" instead of that normal old and stale business card. I've seen this idea in action and, only one word can describe the reaction that people have when they see it...WOW!
