Can You Or Your Mortgage Business Use A MagicJack?

Yes…I succumbed to the “100% Risk Free 30 Day Free Trial” offer by MagicJack. That kind of guarantee gets me every time. But, couple that guarantee with the long term savings potential being touted and the incredibly small investment…I decided to give it a try.

Before we begin, let’s set the record straight. There’s no affiliation arrangement here and no monies of any kind paid to me should I write something positive.

This article is what it is…a simply review. It is written and published to keep you as a subscriber to our Mortgage newsletter informed. It’s meant to give you my spin on a product and/or service that could save you and/or your Mortgage Business money.

Now, just so you know…there’s an excellent “Mortgage Marketing Lesson available as a result of this article and we’ll reveal it at the conclusion of this article. If you think about it a little, you’ll probably come up with the tip with little or no help from me.

That being said…let’s take a look at MagicJack!

The advertising for MagicJack (television and website) is short, simple, and laden with features and benefits. An Internet connection is required and could be Broadband, high-speed internet, cable internet, DSL, WiFi or WiMax. It does not work over Dial-up or satellite Internet. Here are some of the main features:

1. Inexpensive…$39.95 plus S&H (slightly cheaper on the shopping channels) for the product and one years service, then $19.95 per year thereafter.

2. 30 Day trial…if you elect to return it…they will pay the S&H.

3. Two (2) or three (3) minute installation…just plug it into a USB slot.

4. Free local and long distance calling (U.S. and Canada), free Caller ID, free Call Waiting, free Voicemail, free Directory Assistance, and a free Phone Number.

5. It is compatible with Microsoft Outlook.

6. It works with Windows XP, Vista, and Intel MACs.

7. Take it with you when you travel.

As of this writing we have used MagicJack for about two (2) months. We have a number of projects in the works and our long-distance phone bill has been steadily increasing. We just eliminated the long distance carrier from our phone system using MagicJack for this purpose.

We have a small networked computer system using Windows XP and
Vista systems with a DSL connection. MagicJack is plugged into the Vista system which is always “on.” After hours, the system automatically backs-up to an external drive and also backs-up to an off site back-up service.

My installation wasn’t as automatic as they advertised…plug it in and everything works. My MagicJack wouldn’t install and no indication as to why? Clicking on “Computer” did show that
Vista recognized the device and a right Click and then “run,” did start the install process which took about two minutes. Vista has lots of “permission” things with it.

Our only additional investment was an inexpensive telephone system (recommended) with multiple remotes and charging stations that we use with the MagicJack system. We saved enough money in the first thirty (30) days to pay for the new phone system multiple times over. From here on out, it’s all gravy!

We must tell you…it works, and it works extremely well! This not at all “magic” as the name MagicJack may imply. This is an advanced view into the “real future and potential” of what the Internet will be bringing into your World and mine. This product is just the beginning. Embrace it, take advantage of it, and enjoy it! This is going to be an incredible ride!

Ok…Were you able to pinpoint the “Mortgage Marketing Lesson” in all of this? In reality this little marketing gem works for any kind of business, not just the Mortgage Business.

Here’s the lesson you can easily use…

This article is about a product that we purchased. Since it isn’t our product, this article is really a testimonial or better yet, a “review.” Tons of people read “reviews” and directories that wish to please readers publish “reviews.”

We have taken “Article Marketing” to a different level and written a “review” for you and others to read. You’ll notice the “review” contains various references to Mortgage Marketing, Mortgage Business, and Mortgage Marketing Lesson. It is these keywords that make this “review” mortgage specific.

Using this little slight of hand (actually slight of word), we could own a pet store, a dry cleaner, or a flower store, and hopefully increase the traffic to any of those Websites just to get driving directions. Just change the keywords to fit the new businesses and the “review” works for all of them. Since I don’t know a thing about the dry cleaning business, the article may take me a little longer to write.

Keep in mind the marketing concept here. If folks find your published article and are impressed with your expertise, honesty, and professionalism, they’ll look you up and over time, possibly do business with you.

Now…there’s no live links to entice you to go to MagicJack.com. The no link rule is an absolute (no exception) requirement of most article directories…no affiliate or single Website links in the body of the article or review.

All of my Website traffic will come as a result of the single live link in my short “Author’s Bio” at the end of this and every article I write. I’ll keep you informed of the response to this particular article using the following…
